Hytroc (HYE trohk) society is one of strict, lawful matriarchy. Individual families control cities that bear that family's name. A major Hytroc “house” is called Dyohr, eg: “House D’Sohn” is more correctly referred to as Dyohr D’Sohn. The term “Dyohr” translates directly as “unity of the blood” and covers all persons, assets and property of the House. “D’Vonn” is the proper title for the matron of a House. The matron’s given name is added to the title, rather than the family name. eg: Matron Takria Daphos would be properly referred to as D’Vonn Takria of Dyohr Daphos. The Hytroc follow the goddess “Feth” always referred to as “D’Vonn Feth”. The focus of the religion is family, strength of body, and motherhood. It also seems that focus is on one’s own family at the expense of other families. Competition is encouraged. Competition between families is often very fierce, occasionally leading to combat, as D'Vonn vie for their place in the "pecking order". One's place in society is of the utmost importance. Hytroc women are born, bred and harshly educated for strength, purity and the way of the warrior. From the time she can hold a weapon, Hytroc are intensely schooled in the art of personal combat. Before puberty, every girl must go through a rite of passage, where she is beaten and thrown naked into the wilderness with only a sword as her companion. She must survive whatever hardships and predators await her, as she makes her way back to a temple to the goddess. The merciless trip can take weeks to complete, and many girls do not survive. The ones who live through the rite find honored places among their people and families. The concept of loyalty to one’s family and people is paramount in every young girl’s upbringing.

Important note - Hytroc males: Over the centuries, the Hytroc have, through careful genetic manipulation, selectively ‘discontinued’ the existence of males from their species, being considered the extraneous and inferior gender. Prior to being eliminated, males were mere slaves to the females. A player of a male Hytroc must get Narrator approval, and will have the ‘Pariah/Outcast’ Quirk (among his own race) at rank 5, which may never be bought fully off. The vast majority of female Hytroc will simply try to kill a male of their species on sight.
Hytroc reproduction in modern times is only done through highly controlled and monitored medical means. Several other humanoid races are genetically compatible with the Hytroc, (including Humans) but carnal contact is seen as deviant behavior in current Hytroc society… It is not, however, unheard of.

The date is not certain, but an estimated thousand or so years ago, (early 1900’s AD) when the Hytroc first landed on Planet KaghNoor, (Aeron, the Hytroc homeworld, is the moon of KaghNoor.) the primitive but sentient reptilian natives there, the Sathoy, regarded the Hytroc as deities. The Hytroc capitalized on the situation, forcing the Sathoy into slavery. Hytroc utilized the powerful Sathoy as laborers and miners to further develop Aeron. KaghNoor itself has been extensively mined by Sathoy slave labor. More influential Hytroc even utilize Sathoy bodyguards. Over the centuries, some Sathoy have come to understand the truth about the Hytroc, but still, many consider the Hytroc as gods.

Physical variance
Large, sharp eyes, that can be from blue, violet, red, or sometimes a golden yellow. Hair color is never dark naturally, and can be just about any color, including snowy white. Skin color is as Human.

Phenomenal Vision, ranging into the UV & IR spectrum, Detect Psionics, Hypnotic gaze (Target must have eye contact & understand voice) Resistant to Psionics and other Charm effects, Healing while sleeping is doubled in effect. Hytroc are natural fighters.

Attitudes
Hytroc are arrogant, superior, and condescending, especially to the males of any species. Their venomous, belittling attitude towards what they consider the inferior gender has caused many a rift between the Hytroc and other races.

Fauna: No large land based grazing animals or predators. Small, swift hebivores and omnivores abound. No pack hunters exist, but solitary predators up to the size of a terran puma are common. These feline-like creatures, called Sha'ex, are often kept by powerful matrons as pets. No cetaceans exist in the planet's oceans. Aeron is known for its diverse, colorful bird species.
Flora: Trees abound across the planet, but none taller than 100 ft (30m) exist. Flowering shrubs and water plants are the most abundant.

Technology
Highly advanced. Cloaking technology is commonplace, and larger vessels utilize a solar charged spacefold system to instantaneously "jump" hundreds of light years. Hytroc ships are known as the fastest at sublight speeds, with highly accurate, long range beam weaponry.

Notes; Similar metabolism to Humans, but skin is noticably cooler to the touch. Niether nocturnal nor diurnal. Due to a Hytroc's superior vision, they function equally well in the day or night. Hytroc sleep very little, perhaps four to eight hours for every Hytroc day (70.3 hours). This is usually broken up into 1 to 4 hour periods. Hytroc are notoriously heavy sleepers, and can actually go for very long periods without any sleep at all. When injured, Hytroc might sleep longer in order to speed up the healing process. Hytroc are known to 'age well'.
